Late at night, have you ever found yourself drowning in your own thoughts? You try to fall asleep, shifting from right to left and back again, only growing more restless. The ticking of the clock seems to echo louder and louder in your head as you stare endlessly at the dark ceiling. You wake up suddenly, scribble in your journal, put on your saved meditation playlist, anything that might help, but nothing works. By the time the clock strikes 6 a.m., the first rays of the sun feel unusually bothersome. And yet, not all hope is lost. Like a child, you begin counting sheep, 1 sheep, 2 sheep, 3 sheep, …. and as the noise in your mind slowly fades, you finally drift into the sleep you have been longing for.
