Whether it is a student moving abroad for study, a parent seeking jobs or a person with dismal hope of moving into a better place, we all let go of our past to seek residence in new and unknown places. The painting Chasing the Urban Sun represents these souls, leaving with heavy hearts, in search of new hope. The mixed colors of yellow exhibit the search for the warmth of hope, the blue represents the numbness that one feels and the red colors exhibit the pain bleeding through their chest. The darker the colors get, the deeper the pain. But at the end, it is our common story and we should go on just embracing the reality, or as Friedrich Nietzsche puts it, Amor Fati.
